Woman's Nephew Slaps Her in the Face, Then Husband Stepped In and 'Drew the Line.' Now She's Defending His Actions (Exclusive)

Lexi Pratt was shocked when her nephew slapped her in the face — and then her husband stepped in.

In a now viral video, Pratt can be seen holding her nephew Rocky in her arms while her husband Parker looks on. All of a sudden, Rocky gets handsy and pushes her face, prompting her husband to reach out and move his hand away. He shakes his head and says, "No."

The toddler then looks at Parker and deliberately slaps Pratt in the face. Her husband then swiftly removes Rocky from her arms and carries him into the other room.

Pratt first posted the video on her Instagram, which has amassed over 166 million views. She later reposted the video with a lengthy statement, defending her husband against some of the more negative comments.

"When your husband drew the line with your nephew hitting you..." Pratt wrote across the video.

"My husband received hundreds of thousands of positive comments on this video. And also received accusations of having anger issues, being toxic, and being too physical," Pratt wrote. "Fully irrelevant comments that don’t phase me because I actually know the man. But highly representative of the battle men face constantly to be the perfect balance of masculine for the world. Too much and he’s toxic. Too little and he’s weak."

She went on to say that nothing "crazy" happens in the video and that it clearly worked on her toddler nephew.

"In this video, nothing crazy extraordinary happens. (And yet so great). My husband shows that his wife comes first and establishes healthy boundaries on hitting for our nephew," said Pratt. "You see immediately after that my nephew picked up on the lesson really quick. It clearly worked. There was no violence whatsoever. Just a firm no and removing from the situation as needed."

She explained that Parker's reaction "struck a cord" with some people and says that instead of tearing others down, we should support them instead.

"Men are not perfect, no one is, but give them the chance to learn and grow. Give positive feedback when they are masculine like this. Ask with great respect for them to step up to the plate when you need them to. Give good men a chance to be good men," Pratt added.

Speaking with PEOPLE, Pratt says she was "mainly just shocked" to see Rocky "deliberately testing" her husband's boundaries.

"I knew my husband would react the way he did," says Pratt. "We have this understanding that we come first and that he will always defend me. Even if it's just a toddler testing boundaries, if you let boundaries slide in one place, they will slide in other places, too. It definitely made me love and respect him even more."

Pratt says that she feels like Rocky learned his lesson and that he hasn't hit her since the video was filmed.

"I posted a follow-up video of clips from the next day," Pratt says. "Rocky still has moments when his emotions get the best of him — he is a toddler, after all — but then he remembers and immediately makes it up to me."

"Readjusting to hug or kiss me instead of hit. He has not hit me since and that was weeks ago," she adds.

Pratt also says that Rocky and her husband normally get along great and even have tickle fights together.

"Rocky and Parker love each other so much. When Rocky comes to visit and sees Parker for the first time, he runs to hug him and has this huge grin on his face like, 'My uncle!' " she explains. "It's so tender. It makes my heart so happy. They have tickle fights and both love aquariums. Rocky is one loved boy."

As for some of the negative reactions Pratt's husband has received online, she says she's just trying to spread the message of healthy boundaries.

"When I first posted [the video], I was fearful people would take it the wrong way and be negative. Parenting is a very controversial subject and everyone has their own boundary," she explains. "But I also knew women crave men who are genuinely masculine and put their wives and boundaries first, not just caving to the whims of their kids. And that seems to be the predominant response from 150 million people."

"I’ve learned to ignore the hate so it’s been a fun experience for me. I love spreading the message of healthy family priorities and boundaries," Pratt continues. "Spreading refreshing content to the world and seeing that positive feedback is very fulfilling."

Pratt also says her sister, who is Rocky's mom, is always aware of the content she's posting online. She adds that she and Parker are looking forward to becoming parents of their own sometime soon.

"It's so heartwarming, reassuring and exciting seeing the dynamic Rocky and Parker have," Pratt says. "He is so hands-on, helpful and proactive. When we go anywhere with Rocky, Parker makes sure we have the diaper bag, snacks, full bottle, shoes for Rocky and anything else we might need."

"He holds the mental load so we can all have a good time," she continues. "It makes me especially happy to see them click on their own things like watching our fish tank together or communicating in their own way."

"He's a natural born father and I cannot wait until the day he become one."
