Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump launched a new mobile phone venture earlier this year, but some customers are reporting that Trump Mobile has yet to deliver.
During their Trump Tower launch event on June 16, Don Jr. and Eric touted a made-in-America gold mobile phone, as well as a "Trump Mobile" service with SIM cards also manufactured in America that would run on the networks of the U.S.'s three primary wireless providers.
According to the initial announcement, the phone was set to begin releasing in August. However, a new report by NBC News alleges major shipping delays and changes in corporate language on the Trump Mobile site.
The outlet first ordered the Trump Mobile's signature T1 phone in August, paying a $100 deposit against the $499 full price of the gold phone — both of which are still consistent with the online ordering available today.

NBC News received a confirmation email verifying the order, but that was the last update they had from Trump Mobile. The outlet reportedly called the company's customer support line five times between September and November, and finally received a delivery date: Nov. 13.
When the phone was still not delivered by that date, they called back, only to be reportedly told the phone would now ship at the "beginning of December." The operator reportedly blamed the government shutdown for the delay.
Other users have raised questions about the consistency of the phone design and network offerings; however, orders and down payments are still being accepted with the promise of availability “later this year.”
Another major, noticeable update to the Trump Mobile site is the alteration of the language about the phone being solely produced in the U.S. While the website initially promised their products would be "Made in the USA," NBC News reported that language was scrubbed in late June.
Now, the website says the phone has "American-Proud Design," and the T1 is listed as "Proudly American" alongside other iPhones and Samsung devices that the Trump Mobile site has for sale.
"The T1SM Phone isn’t just powerful—it’s brought to life right here in the USA," the website boasts. "With American hands behind every device, we bring care, precision, and trusted quality to every detail."

NBC News spoke with Todd Weaver, the founder and CEO of Purism, a company that purports to manufacture the only U.S.-made smartphone on the market. Weaver agreed with critics' skepticism about Trump Mobile's ability to build a "Made in the USA" smartphone in their promised timeframe, saying that, prior to the 2022 launch of his Liberty phone, "nobody [in the U.S. had] done it before" without help from Chinese manufacturers.
“We actually had to go over to China with our designs, to learn the process, the manufacturing process, to see what are all the steps,” Weaver said, noting that it took him six years to develop the Liberty. He sells the phone for $1,999, a steep increase from the Trumps' promised $499.
Even then, Purism admits that its phone isn't 100% U.S.-produced. While most of the parts and materials come from the U.S, Canada and Europe, some are still made in companies like China and India.
