Kylie Jenner’s Pink and Feathery Festive Look Comes With a Fun Reference

When it comes to holiday dressing, I’m sure you’re thinking about sequin, crushed velvet, and deep shades of burgundy and hunter green. For Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics’s Christmas party, the mogul decided to break a few of those festive fashion rules for a much more fun reference.

Heading out to the ’50s throwback Mexican restaurant Casa Vega for margarita and shrimp taco-fueled fun with the Kylie Cosmetics crew, Jenner slipped on a pink and feathery Conner Ives gown. The silk-crepe and chiffon dress features a gauzy pink, iridescent overlay and fuschia lining with a halterneck style top fastened with candy pink feathers, and more feathers encircling the hips. While London designer Ives often refers to the it-girls (Jenner’s sister Kim Kardashian included, as well as West End Girl Lily Allen) he dresses as “swans,” Jenner looks every bit of a high-fashion flamingo. (Ives himself commented on her Instagram post with a 🦩 emoji.)

She wore her hair up in a bun with a sweet, ’30s-esque kiss curl (a style that’s been super popular among the celeb set this year), and did her makeup herself with a gradient pink blush, a glossy pink-nude lip, feathery lashes, and lightly smoky eyes.

Jenner dropped all angles of the dress on her Instagram, with the final slide showing a screenshot of Yzma, the glamorous, purple-toned villain (voiced by the formidable Eartha Kitt) of Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove. “Pull tha lever,” Jenner captioned the post, a direct reference to a very iconic scene from the 2000 animated movie.
