Kathy Hilton Shares Throwback Video with Husband Rick Hilton on 46th Wedding Anniversary: ‘My Forever Date’

Kathy Hilton and Rick Hilton are celebrating 46 years of marriage. 

On Monday, Nov. 24, the 66-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared a throwback video of what seemed to be Rick, 70, making a toast on their 20th wedding anniversary.

“A little over 20 years ago, Kathy’s mother, she said to me, ‘You know who you’re about to marry?’ And I said, ‘Who's that,’ ” Rick recalled in his speech before going on to reference the iconic I Love Lucy actress. “She said, ‘It’s Lucille Ball.’ "

"I knew Kathy had a great sense of humor, I knew she was absolutely knockout gorgeous and also that she was very bright," he continued. "But myself, not being an idiot about it, I said, ‘You know, this is a catch and I'd better close this deal.’ ”

After meeting as teenagers, the couple wed on Nov. 24, 1979. Kathy and Rick now share four children: Paris, 44, Nicky, 42, Barron, 36, and Conrad, 31, as well as eight grandchildren.

“Looking back over the last 20 years, I must say that, not only are you funny like Lucille Ball, gorgeous beyond belief and smarter than most people I've ever met, but you've been just a fantastic wife,” Rick gushed in his speech. “You are a great mother to our four children. You are a great lover to me, but I think also something very important is that Kathy is my best friend. I think about the last 20 years, and we dated about five years before that, and it just gets better every year.”

“Honey, I’m looking forward to the next 20 and spending the rest of my life with you,” he concluded. 

Over two decades later, Kathy shared the sweet memory on Instagram alongside the caption, “Blessed to spend another year with the love of my life ❤️❤️❤️ Happy Anniversary @rickhilton7 ❤️❤️❤️.”

The reality star also shared a more recent photo of the pair, in which she donned a black mini dress with lace detailing and a pair of classic black heels. Meanwhile, Rick sported a white suit with a black button-up peeking out underneath. 

“Happy Anniversary to my forever date ❤️❤️❤️,” Kathy wrote.

As for Kathy and Rick’s secret to a long and healthy marriage? The socialite previously shared with PEOPLE a few tips that have kept their relationship strong. 

“We have not been away from each other for two weeks in [all our] years of marriage,” Kathy explained in September 2024. “I don't think you go to bed without saying, ‘I love you,’ and kissing each other and never in a fight or anything. If you have had a disagreement, you always make up before you go to sleep and keep a little mystery and always keep it exciting and fun.”
