Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg Reveal New Thirst Trap Christmas Card — and How They Got Their Hot Holiday Bodies (Exclusive)

Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg are looking ab fab in their new holiday card.

The couple, who have been married since 2014, just released their latest action-figure-inspired holiday card for Formless Beauty, and their six-packs are on full display. But McCarthy, 53, tells PEOPLE that there were some "cheats" behind their fit physical appearances.

"The secret is we always shoot it when Donnie gets off of tour, so he’s been dancing around on stage for the whole three months for his Vegas residency and is in great shape," she says. "I have to do the shoot in that window before he turns into that donut-loving cop on Boston Blue."

As for McCarthy, she says she's looking trim because she had a number of mouth surgeries over the past year that left her unable to chow down on anything but soft foods.

"So people should actually feel a little sorry for me," she says with a laugh. "I was pretty unlucky."

McCarthy adds that the couple can't wait for the holidays and a little downtime.

"it's been a little tricky-wicky getting together," she says. "I've been shooting Masked Singer in Los Angeles, he’s been in Canada. So it's been tricky and difficult, which means Thanksgiving and Christmas will mean more than anything this year. It’s just me and him, at home in Chicago, me cooking a bird, and enjoying each other."

After the holidays, she says it's back to work: "I'm going on a little tour — Formless Beauty is coming to Sprouts stores, so I'm going to go to them all in person to help launch the products. I'm going to 80 to 100 stores over the next few months."

McCarthy notes that her vegan and cruelty-free beauty line has been blowing up recently.

"We went viral recently and sold out of 70% of our inventory," she says, adding that people went gaga over the mascara. "We just found our people."

"And we just got a certified EWG [Environmental Working Group] stamps, which means really rigorous testing and third-party testing to ensure the products are clean. That means people [going] through chemo or who have autoimmune diseases, and health issues like that can use them."

McCarthy previously told PEOPLE that her own health issues helped inspire the company.

"I have so much kind of s--- wrong with me," she told PEOPLE in May. "I'm like, I have Hashimoto's, Candida, leaky gut, celiac disease, and a histamine intolerance."

She said she'd been extremely cautious about her food and drink intake to manage it all, but that before launching Formless Beauty, she'd use whatever drugstore products were handy.

"Then one day I was like, why am I cleaning up my food, my water, my air, and then I'm going to put this garbage on my face? And then that's when I went down the major rabbit hole of looking at ingredients and said,' I need to start my own company!"
