At least four people have been killed in a fire at an apartment block in Hong Kong.

The fire broke out at Wang Fuk Court in Hong Kong's northern Tai Po district at around 2:15 p.m. local time on Wednesday, Nov. 26, the BBC and Reuters reported.

Seven people were transported to the hospital following the fire. Four people were pronounced dead in the hospital. Two people are in critical condition and one is in stable condition, according to the BBC.

Photos from the scene show the apartment building filled with smoke and fire across some windows.

Among the injured were some firefighters who tried to put out the blaze, per Reuters.

According to the outlet, the apartment where the fire started is a 2,000-unit residential complex comprising eight blocks.

It is not currently known what caused the fire.
